Advanced Improv Skills is for those ready to take to the stage, or more experienced performers looking for additional learning opportunities. In this term, you will learn monologue skills, pulling premise from an opening, analogous scene work, callbacks, and more. The class culminates in a performance of an Armando.

Take Your Improv to the Next Level with Our Advanced Improv Skills Course!

Ready to elevate your improv game? Our Advanced Improv Skills course is designed for improvisers who have already built a foundation and are looking to deepen their craft. Over eight weeks, you'll refine your techniques, explore new formats, and gain valuable stage experience to become a more confident and versatile performer.

What to Expect:

This course offers a dynamic and challenging environment where you will:

  • Hone Advanced Techniques: Master nuanced skills such as character development, advanced scene work, and narrative building.
  • Perform in Front of Live Audiences: Get valuable stage time both in smaller groups with experienced improvisers and as a full group, culminating in a live show.
  • Expand Your Improv Toolkit: Dive deeper into complex improv concepts, formats, and styles to keep your performances fresh and engaging.

Course Details:

  • Duration: 8 weeks, with a performance in Week 9 (subject to availability)
  • Class Length: 2.5 hours per session
  • Class Dates and Times:
    • Week 1: September 23, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
    • Week 2: September 30, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
    • Week 3: October 7, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
    • Week 4: October 14, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
    • Week 5: October 21, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
    • Week 6: October 28, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
    • Week 7: November 4, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
    • Week 8: November 11, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
  • Class Performance: The performance will be scheduled for the weekend following the final class date. Further details will be provided once the class begins.

  • The class will start on time. If you need to be late, there's no need to apologize or explain. Please enter the space quietly and take a minute to arrive and take in what's going on. We'll incorporate you as soon as we can.
  • We don't believe that money should stand in the way of you starting your improv journey. If you're interested in a class and cannot afford it, please reach out to us so that we can assist you.
  • Class registrations are subject to close approximately 72 hours before the start of the class, so please sign up early if you're interested! Registrations are final.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us through our website.
  • Please wear comfortable clothes appropriate for light physical activity.
  • The only thing you need to bring to class is a willingness to be brave and participate.
  • Unless otherwise indicated in the class description, the theater opens 15 minutes prior to the start of your class time.
  • By your participation in a class or workshop, you agree to our terms and conditions.
  • One of the most effective ways to learn improv is to watch improv. As long as you are an active student within our community, attendance at shows is free to you. Attendance is subject to availability, and paying customers get priority.
  • We are always looking to make our curriculum more comprehensive, so if there's a course that you think will help you with your improv journey, please don't hesitate to contact us. 
  • All classes and workshops at The Bit are contingent on a minimum number of student registrations.
  • Instructors are subject to change due to scheduling conflicts and restrictions.

  • Our processing fees go directly to our ticket processing provider. We do NOT take a portion of the fee for ourselves.
